If Gluten makes you ill, eating GF is not at all expensive--think of all the money you can save on Rx and Dr bills :)

I am one of those late diagnosed Celiac Disease people who had to get really sick before I figured out is was CD and not all the other misdiagnoses the Dr.s came up with.

The last big gluten accident was eating scrambled eggs while out of town. It cost me about $2,000 in out of pocket ER expenses and another $3,000 for the insurance company!

Really though, the convenience foods may be a bit more expensive. But, if you stick to whole foods and minimize the convenience products, it does not have to be any more expensive to eat GF. Also, cooking from scratch is much cheaper than buying baking mixes, etc. :)

GF beer is actually really nice if you find a good one. There are some ATROCIOUS ones....but I had one the other day that I had to wrestle off my non-GF free bf.
